Don’t tell me that I know nothing

Because you know nothing about me

I’ve worked too hard for my destiny

I’ve played the harps of angels

And escaped the grasp of the devil

And nobody ever bothered to care about me

Speak to me

Look at me

It was their obnoxious silence that reeked doom

A horrid scream in the hazy gloom

I was forced to hide

Not run away, but inside

And tear myself apart piece by piece

Until they were satisfied

Just a puppet on strings being told so many lies

Nobody heard my cries that night

So I forced myself to take on a fight

I was alone and I was scared

But it’s not like anyone cared

I gave myself so much more

Crawled out from the darkness and sharpened a sword

And let it slice free

I’m tired of letting them set fire on me

Burn me black as night

And I have no chance

But I feel it’s my duty to battle for myself

If I don’t

Nobody will

And even though I now sleep where soldiers lie

My soul is healed from an unloved dry
