Summary

Although it's twisted, this is the sort of love story I wish for, and have come so close to having so many times... teen love. It kills. But this is for someone I wish I had.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like

To walk down the streets in December at midnight

With dark walls of night

To feel cold ice absorbed into your hands

To see foggy breaths in the empty air

For it to be silent enough to hear each snowflake hit the ground

For it to rest on my head and bedazzle my hair

And I would walk

Walk forwards

To a large open space

And let my thoughts take place

To review what I've done

Maybe regret things I've said

But now something you mentioned

Rolls around in my head

Because I used to wonder what it would be like

To walk down the streets in December at midnight

It was only a thought

No emotions it brought

But now I am here

Time was short

Time I fear

Now I stand in winter alone

As you take your orders like a drone

And there's nothing I can do to pull you home

Except wait, dream and pray

Send the angels your way

And all around me there was

Silence

Until I heard footsteps in the snow

And I turned to face a soldier

A face I love and know

And in the moonlight his face seemed to glow

Because he knew he was home

Home with me

Where ever on earth that may be

It didn't matter on these icy streets
