15 year old Prudence (Prue) Landgrave loves to take pictures. She lives in the wilderness that has now been pieced together and called Lamonkol. Her trusty camera was found hidden deep in the mountains from when the disease struck the world and the original owner of the camera had died. Finally, her mother has saved enough money to buy a photo printer of the High Council (elders who built the civilisation of Lamonkol). Prue prints all of her pictures off, and when she does, she was not expecting to see what was on them. People, dead and then brought back to life, teenagers her age fighting and surviving, animals savaged and wild. Prue suddenly realizes her world has been kept hidden in a dreamy haze or perfectness.
It's time to escape.
