#10 In The Grandmother Series

We tread upon the emerald grass,
underneath is hallowed ground.
We read the epitaphs etched in stone,
many verses having rhymed.
We pick bouquets of flowers,
and place them in the vases.
We weep upon their graves,
tears like rain flow in streams.
We walk the cobbled paths,
wondering about their pasts.
We look towards the dreary sky,
doves have taken to flight.
We sit beneath willow trees,
with angels lingering near.
We are the living here today,
and hope that death will pass us by.
We don't want loved ones to weep,
for we all know the dreadful pain.
