The Colors of the Leaves

Autumn has come again
Look at the leaves
With all of the different colors
I can’t help but think

Red, yellow, orange
Black, white, tan
Are we doing
The best we can?

Why aren’t we like them?
We come in different colors
But unlike the leaves,
We still prejudice each other

Based on their color
Based on their skin
An endless war
That no one can win

Let’s be like the leaves
They don’t care about color
They just do what they do,
Living with one another

All different people
All different leaves
A variety of colors
Yet part of a tree

Autumn has come again
Look at the leaves
With all the different colors
It’s a beautiful thing
