I check my phone for what feels like the hundredth time. The bright glare of the screen destroys my night vision and the after image lingers for a few seconds. I feel my anxiety intensify when I see that nothing has come through. I think for a moment about sending another message and scroll through the messages I have already sent. All saying the same thing, where are you?

It has been 2 days since I awoke strapped to a gurney, I was ambushed by Magpie while out on a standard patrol. The building I awoke in was an old garage that had been practically destroyed, the roof was torn off and masonry laid all over the floor. I have spent ages trying to figure out what had happened, the closest I could get was that Magpie was using me to coerce Mister Great, but he obviously escaped from his brick prison. The massive hole in the roof was something I had not figured out.

I let out a deep breathed sigh that helps me to feel better for all of 2 seconds and I feel the desperation flood back over me. A deep cloud of despair lingers and prevents me from being able to distract myself from the emptiness. Not even as I pummelled a rapist half to death last night helped much in the way of deterring my mind from lingering in the void.

The town seems annoyingly quiet as I stand on the roof of a multi-story car park, as if in defiance to my wanting to be distracted. I would rather a riot broke out right now than for everyone to actually be peaceful. Does that make me a bad person?

The police scanner buzzes into life. Reports of a fight that has broken out down by the Quay was just the distraction I was looking for and I make my way their as fast as possible.

It does not take me long to get there, I only had to make my way through the old part of town that backed onto the Quay.

The fight was gang related by the looks of things. More than likely some deal that had gone sour or a sit down that went awry.

3 bodies lay out in the open, a massive pool of blood encompasses them. I counted another 5 men hiding behind crates and walls. 3 on the left and 2 on the right, every now and then a gunshot would ring out. I would have to play this one very safe, my armour is not bullet proof, we generally don't have a problem with guns in England.

That's when I see it, a shadow darts out on the right, it's on top of the first gunman and I can feel it as the gunman's neck is snapped. I cringe a little before I move off the rooftop, I have to make this quick before Magpie kills the other gangers. I can hear the sirens in the distance, I have about 2 minuets to end this before the cops get here and I very much doubt Magpie is needing that much time.

I manage to catch up to him just as he pulls the second ganger over and chops at the man's neck, crushing his windpipe, he will suffocate in about 3 minuets, or drown as the blood pours into his lungs.

He does not hear me sneak up on him and I kick hard at the back of his knees. As he falls I grab him by the throat and slam him into the ground. The other gangers have no idea what's going on and I hear a few pop shots go off and the whip crack of the bullets. I ignore them, I want to know what's going on and Magpie is the only one that can tell me anything.

“Where's Mister Great?” I yell at him.

And just as I am about to attempt to brake his nose I see that it is Mister Great.
