///
i often wonder
if you notice
the lines
crisscrossing
my wrists
carved in
like writing
on the cave walls
each one
tells its own story
each one
means something
different
and i can
explain them all.
but i wonder
if they bother you
if they do
you don't show it;
if they worry you
but i'm afraid
to ask
don't want to
know the answer.
what kind of
screwed up person
takes a blade
and drags it across
making the marks
like it's nothing
leaving scars
constant reminders
of how terrible
you really are.
all of them
you can recall
why you did it
or can you?
is there a reason?
maybe it's just
the marks
or the release
that the pain
gives you
or the blood
the beautiful
crimson red
flowing out.
