Darkness can smother so quickly
And we're plunged into despair.
Fearing everything we see,
Looking for our souls, our faith.
Where did it go that night
When I was all alone in desolation?
We all must wear the albatross
Around our fragile necks.
We shot it at birth
And now it hangs; a dead weight.
Redundant, stupid and false.
It's the weight of death
Which makes us turn to life
In desperation. When nothing
Is left.
