Sometimes I wish I could tell people the truth.
The truth of my soul, the truth of my pain.
Those nights spent curled on my bed, alone and afraid.
Those days sitting in a room full of people, desperate to cry.

I wait for the sun every morning.
When it's covered by the clouds I feel grief.
I have a right to feel the sun's warmth and I will do anything
To feel it again. To remove the pain the clouds bring.

Sometimes the pain in my stomach feels ready to burst
Out into the world and I start to weep for our suffering.
The pain in my belly is the pain of all those who have lost,
Who are afraid, who are forever running from themselves.

I wish I could take the pain out of everyone
And we could hold it in the middle of the sky
And see what we have endured for so long.
Then we would know that we are free.
