So, it's my first attempt of something dark so do tell me what you think. It's not good I know, but I'm just trying.

Memories flash across my mind,
Memories I tried so hard to forget
In this back corner of some alley
I sit back and let the sound enclose me.
Profanity rings out in the air
A bottle breaks and a piercing scream;
Breaks through the night.
Someone call for help,
\"He's dying.\" they say.
A phone beeps, and then a voice comes over
\"Help is coming.\"
So my head falls back and relief washes over me
\"Help Is coming.\"
Those three words, more scared than a prayer
And I wait along with the rest of them
Waiting for it to come
Until the darkness encloses me and my eyes shut.
