This is actually a prayer more than it is a poem. i wrote it when I needed help the most (desperately). It was a time in my life when I wanted to die (literally, thank God those moments are over). It was actually in 2003, around the same time I was writing Joseph and Mary.

My past has kept me depressed
My regrets keep my days stressed
When I think of how I made my life a living hell
It makes my mind locked up line I am in jail
I want this weight off my back
My mind is cluttered with too many memories that keep me contemplating
I need something to help me be
Rain on me Lord
Let me feel you
Make my sadness into gladness
Lord rain on me
Rain on my soul and spirit
Wash me clean so I can live
Make me new
Make me feel different
Different from whom I was
Heal me as you clean me so I don’t relapse
Shower your love on me that it may give me the
Peace I need to have a clean mind
Thank you for the rain
