Breaking Bitterness
In my bitter heart,
In my bitter eyes,
I see no reason,
To save you now.
~
In my bitter heart,
In my bitter mind,
I know the past,
I know your lies,
~
In my bitter heart,
In my bitter bones,
I will not forgive you.
I will not reach out.
~
You’ve filled me with bitterness,
And I will not help you.
You did me wrong,
And I will not forgive you.
~
Your hand is stretched,
Searching for mine.
You scream at me to save you.
I look into your pleading eyes,
And something inside me breaks.
~
You’ve done me wrong,
You’ve hurt me so,
Why should I reach out to you?
But I cannot ignore your pleading stare.
How can you have this effect on me?
~
I reach out my hand,
You grasp it tightly.
And I know,
In my bitter heart,
In my bitter eyes,
In my bitter mind,
And in my bitter bones,
Even if you plead with me,
I will never let you go.
