What Could Have Been

the poem is kind of self-explanatory

The stars of the night shine bright in your eyes,

Reflecting the day gone by.

But even stars will never compare,

And I will never say goodbye.

.

Your eyes, like gold,

Used to blaze, hotter than the sun,

Now, I see they're turning cold,

And I see you’re moving on.

.

“Please don’t leave!”

I plead with you,

But pleading won’t suffice.

You’ve moved on,

And I can tell.

And my heart fills with ice

.

You turn away

I follow you

Once more you reach for me

But I can see it in your eyes,

What could’ve been will never be
