A little play on the famous line "The world is but a stage, and we are all mere players upon it: (Shakespeare).

The world is but a stage,

Acting is our task.

I'm sure that's great and fine.

What if....without a mask?

If true sages shone in wisdom

And false ones fell away.

Cruel ambitions won't mislead,

To false gods, none would pray.

But would it be so nice

If nothing were concealed?

The theatre has no magic

If secrets were revealed.

Thanks, Katie!!! Indeed, the more we find out, the more we decide that we need to know.

This is unbelievably true. I would hate to see what is underneath the mask of the world. Sad but true. As always, excellent writing, keep it up. I feel like I say that too much...

No. I love well-thought-out comments, or whatever the description is. :)

I like this idea about the world like a stage , but i like to think that i'm the director of my own life in spite of think that someone upper in the sky is on the control. Great Poem.

That's good too. :) The creator in the sky probably likes to let us make our own choices, or at least give us that impression.
