Do you remember

That stupid, long, horrible day

Where we needed to sit in that filthy auditorium

For (what was it?) 9 hours?

Well, I remember it, even if you don’t

It was the first day I saw you, and even though

That day was stupid, long, and horrible

It had at least one glorious, shining moment.

Oh God- oh wait, not supposed to say that-

That was so ridiculous.

That guy was up there talking for hours

And we just had to sit there.

But I always stole a glance

In your direction.

It was the only way to keep my mind

From shutting off

That glorious, shining moment came

After the arduous lecture.

We were separated into groups

And as luck would have it

We were placed within the same group

And since then, I have been entranced.

Somehow, I still am unable to get over the feeling

Of sitting next to you, and disguising my glances

As a roll of my eyes.

I never thought I’d see you after that stupid, long, horrible day

But as it turns out, the fates favored me.

Our paths have met more often than once,

And I found that at the end of each meeting

I would always think back to that day

And be glad that the glorious, shining moment

Had happened.
