This poem is about the stray cats in Turkey however there is a twist! The poem has also been translated into Turkish (with Google Translate’s assistance when needed) because I’m learning Turkish. The Turkish translation is below the English one. No, I haven’t been to Turkey.

Bu ?iir, Türkiye'deki sokak kedileriyle ilgili, ancak bir bükülme var! ?iir ayr?ca Türkçe'ye de çevrildi (gerekti?inde Google Translate'in yard?m? ile). Türkçe çeviri ?ngilizce'nin alt?ndad?r. Hay?r, ben Türkiye'ye gitmedim.

English:

I turn to my left - there’s a cat,

I turn to my right - another one.

There’s many types of cats:

Black cats, white cats, grey cats,

Big cats, small cats,

Fat cats, skinny cats.

I pat both cats on either side and look up to see about a hundred cats coming towards me - of course, I’m in Turkey!

They all come in different shapes and sizes,

So many little surprises!

At last, I turn to my left and walk inside my apartment.

Turkish:

Sola döndüm, bir kedi var.

Sa?a dönüyorum - ba?ka bir.

Birçok kedi türü var:

Siyah kediler, beyaz kediler, gri kediler,

Büyük kediler, küçük kediler,

?i?man kediler, zay?f kediler.

Her iki kediyi de ok?ad?m ve birde bakt?m yüz kedi bana do?ru geliyor - elbette Türkiye'deyim!

Hepsi farkl? ?ekil ve boyutlarda

Pek çok küçük sürpriz!

Sonunda sola dönüp dairemin içine giriyorum.
