A small poem I wrote when I was being bullied a while back, for the third time.

The proverbial gun is loaded,
Just cock it and aim.
You place your soft fingers against my temple
And all you need to do is pull the trigger.

But I grasp it in my calloused hand,
And the safety lock clicks on.
The spring uncoils like a dead snake,
And the bullet shrinks back like a beaten dog.

You don't know what I've been through,
What I've seen
And what's been said to me.

Put your toy away,
you can't kill me.
