Standing here alone,

I’m surrounded by thousands

Yet, here I stand forsaken

Smiles and laughter echo through out my head,

 flashing before my eyes,

And yet I stand hidden,

 behind this veil of glee.

Desolation is my ally; Joy my combatant

This somber cloud that follows me is my anchor,

Keeping me grounded,

restraining me from floating up,

To the untroubled surface,

Where the world resides.

Soon my friends… I will return,

These shadows that haunt me will fade,

And I will come home,

From my pits of despair and,

We shall laugh once more as though,

I’ve never left.
