Alone in the dark,

No reason to go on,

I look back at my life,

And where I came from.

A broken down home,

Love never existed,

Is it any wonder,

I'm so bitter and twisted?

A shell of the person,

That I could have been,

Is all that I am now,

So unfair, it seems.

A life never to live,

A love never to know,

An unenviable jealousy,

Is all I have to show.

" Life is what you make it ",

I've often been told,

That's a hard pill to swallow,

When you've been dealt a hand so cold.
