It's been so long,

Since I've known despair,

It's been so long,

Since I hadn't a care.

There's been so much joy,

In my life presently,

He's opened up my eyes,

And I'm beginning to see.

There hasn't been a teardrop,

Or a feeling of emptiness,

He's touched my life,

With an effect like no rest.

I've learned to love,

I've learned to live,

He's shown me how to blossom,

He's shown me how to give.

But most of all,

He's learned me faith,

And respect for myself,

Which before,  I'd learned to hate.
