The first five days are the hardest............ after the weekend!
The weekend highs will come crashing down that we can depend
Suicide Sunday followed by mundane Monday
Every one mourning Monday feeling sorry for themselves
when 3 o clock Saturday morning was the best they ever felt
until Saturday afternoon descends after some shut eye
feeling as rough as toast complaining of how much drunk and why
a distorted reality in memory replaced by a hangover
with the discontent of being relatively sober
the only comfort being; two more days off
intoxication on Sunday leads to faking the put on cough
the phone call cough too ill to work on Monday , so it seems
as only got in at six this morning? I would make it in my dreams
whether you suffer Monday or not; having thrown a sick day
The first five days are the hardest following time off on Saturday
Tuesday is hard to face if you let down your fellow work mates
"must of been a 24hr thing" you'd say disguising your disgrace
Wednesday is the worst neither here nor there, not at the start or the end
Thursday shines bright with the nearing sight of the weekend
but Thursdays night fun is overcome by Friday morning looming
Fridays work drags on and on until that Friday feelings booming
Work is done for another painstaking week
two free party nights filled with fun we all seek
so safe to say the first five days are the hardest after the weekend
so thankfull are we for those two short days that we just wanted to extend.
