For the opposite of me....

They were alone together in their separate corners of the universe. Carrying the memories they cherished and the image they fantasized about holding forever. Each one traveling in their own way away from the other except in their heart. If the pictures were still on paper how they would have faded from being held and admired. The image creased from being worn and touched every day. But the digital images didn't crease or fret by being held and stayed as crisp as the day they were made if not the day they met.

Here you are again in my dreams you vagabond, she sighed. Stop following me everywhere I go if you don't love me in return. He smiled at her just out of reach and taunted her with what he could be. So much better and so much worse than any real love. Was it pity or kindness she perceived? He would never say to her even in her nights of running from his memory. And like in life he rarely spoke to her while she spoke to him incessantly. Was it intrigue? Flattery, yes it was flattery. Knowing nothing she had to offer him was anything more.

Contrary to his silence, the mans mind was a constant tempest of thought. Love was not a stranger but an unwelcome companion. A luxury he could not afford. But like Venus, the morning star, she looked in on him every morning. He couldn't explain it any better to himself and certainly would not to her. Why break what little she had just to be selfish? All the emotions were there, he owned them and they were sentimental rhetoric with fond sadness.

Neither one knew how beautiful they were together. They both suspected they were never alone, but explaining it was unpredictable and acting on it impractical.
They spoke to the fragile places in each other. Without truly ever speaking clearly. A place that knew if they were allowed to be alone deadly bliss would follow. It was cruel the knowing. That deep need going unmet. Flashes of other realities where they were together came rushing in on moments in the twilight of sleep. They watched each other make love, like a movie just for them. Both animal and sensual. Complete surrender to a place and space neither could access alone. The sound of his voice whispering in her ear as he gave himself to her. The sound of hers complicit with the task. A tenderness and delight in discovery building to a crescendo of released. Don't ever look away he chided, I cannot she admitted sadly. And the movie played on to it's soul survivors.

I truly feel indebted to this wonderful author Chris Green for being here to congratulate my good friend for the fabulous works of her accomplishment... Obviously it took a special touch on the part of a humble author to bring me here to read, yet he was here to congratulate you right away... Thank you for seeing the wonder in the prize of the words of a true friend... I feel your touch on the gentle breezes of a cool clear night air, & the open friendliness of your being in the wisdom of the collections of your thoughts on the proverbial paper...
