I'm the diamond on your rhinestone beach,

The sun behind the clouds.

But I'm burning inside, burning for this

Like you will never know.

~*~

I'm the joker in your hand,

The pen without the ink.

I'm capable of amazing things

But you will never know.

~*~

I'm the book whose covers, torn

But pages still unwritten.

You leave me on that desolate shelf,

Because I'm still unknown.

~*~

I'm the wind that teases your hair,

The echo in your laugh.

I'm everything you wished you were

And I always wish you knew.
