Love conquers all as what many people are saying... it knows no boundary. I was inspired to write this when once upon a time I've watched the more detailed movie about Helen of Troy. And from then on I was able to come up with this.

Just a little closer, where have I seen her?

She seems too familiar.

I can’t cease from watching her lovely face;

What a beauty beyond compare!

Like a flower that blooms in the dry land,

She has brightened my day.

My illusive dream,

Never have I thought- I did not see it coming,

Her loveliness brought forth destruction.

*

In the sea of people,

I longed to be near her,

It’s a dream come true for a heart beating widely.

Towards my path she gazed, at last!

In her eyes I wanted to stay.

Please don’t look away!

My illusive dream,

Never have I thought- I did not see it coming,

Her loveliness brought forth destruction.

*

The spectators around have turned their attention to me.

I walked pass the maiden for I was not there for her.

And when my noble duty was done,

I have found out that in the room she was no more.

A pang I have felt,

As I learned that she belonged to someone else’s.

My illusive dream,

Never have I thought- I did not see it coming,

Her loveliness brought forth destruction.

*

The night has come and there she was,

Her presence has stunned all of me.

She surely looks too familiar

But where, where have I seen her?

She… oh!

The maiden Aphrodite has showed me and so shall I have her.

My illusive dream,

It’s coming true.

The gods making it happen!

*

So, I took her with me,

Forever now, she will belong to where I’m from.

Against all odds,

Oh Helen, our love will surpass all.

Helen, Helen, Oh Helen!

To hear your name, a sweet hymn to my ear.

My illusive dream,

It has come true.

The gods made it happen!

*

Then one day, the happiness faded away.

Outside the mighty gates,

Armed men has come, ready to make war,

Ready to face Hades just to take her back.

Here is where she belonged I thought of,

And to take her away I could not let them.

My illusive dream,

It’s coming to an end.

The prophecy is happening!

*

Never have I thought our love would cause devastation.

In my eyes, the ruin of our kingdom,

Blood, it’s all over the place!

Mother, children and maiden mourned.

Will still the sun shine once more

Or it’ll forever rain in Troy?

Her existence brought forth ruins.

Her loveliness is destruction.

Like a flame, it can’t be tamed.

*

But even if I’ll vanquished trying to protect our love,

It matters not!

I loved her and she loved me.

Then if I’ll vanish from the face of the earth,

Remember me, Helen!

That in these seas, sands, skies, valleys and plains,

Someone has loved you so dearly.

And that my love for you will always remain true.

Then even if my Helen brought forth ruins, it matters not!
