I was six years old when I realized that, I was locked up in a room of an orphanage. I am seventeen now and have grown tired of this room. It is painted white all over and has a tiny bathroom at a corner, but no windows. A large mirror hangs on one of its walls reflecting the nothingness of existence. There is a small peephole on the door through which I see the people outside. Aunt Kate is the only person who visits me, thrice everyday to give me food. I feel lonely all the time. Today, I happened to ask aunt Kate, why I wasn't allowed to step out of this room. She looked straight at me and said, "I will let you know, when you need to know" and left the room quietly. Days passed by and I persistently asked her the same question over and over again. She denied me any answers. So today I saw this girl, a very beautiful girl. She merely passed by my room, walked straight ahead and took a left. Hardly any seconds later, desperation to catch another glimpse of this girl had dug its roots deeper within me. I had waited long hours at the door just to see her one more time, all in vain. The sun rose to its highest point and along came aunt Kate with my lunch and the room keys. I asked her to stay a little longer, giving me time to question her about the girl I had seen earlier. This seemed to have tensed my aunt. Then very subtly I dropped my plate and managed to flip the room keys from her. As soon as she picked up the plate, she made her way out of the room without uttering a word. It has grown dark now. I'm hoping everybody has fallen asleep. I take a step out of my room. Intense relief and excitement gushed through my veins all at once. I walk straight up to that beautiful girl's room, almost running by the time I reach there. I see her fast asleep. She looks so peaceful and charming that I can't take my eyes off of her. Something seems to be pulling me towards her. My legs start making their way to her bed. Few hours later..... I'm staring at my face in the mirror. It's covered in blood. I never knew, that human blood tasted this good. I wonder how aunt Kate would taste....
