Rain lashed against the window,
Beyond which the angels played rummy.
Pounding clouds knocked on their doors,
But they were possessed with devil may care.
Windy sirens called their attention,
Alarmed at the unnoticed evil being gambled.
Crack of voltage wailed from the sky,
These winged creatures called for.
Laughing, one bright being settled for another round;
Cackling, another shuffled the deck.
Together, some chuckled on some unworthy pun,
The joke costing many eternal Hell.
But a solitary lone individual sat,
Attentive to the storm.
Tired of the new game,
Wanting his old routine.
Held captive by overpowering elders of age,
Helpless, silently prays.
Across a wide world,
A person freezes.
What is he doing?
His life awaits.
Repulsed, jumps away from the bridge.
Looking down, notices black ribbons of currents disappearing away.
Glad he isn't among those of never to return,
He slowly walks away.
