As soon as I walked into the home, I knew something was wrong.
I walked into the empty living room.
It's a expansive room, but quite adequately lit.
The walls are painted in a soft amber, broken up by sheer, springtime green curtains on the windows.
I sigh and rub the back of my neck.
Calling her seems complicated.
I hadn't seen my mother for 4 years.
I walk through the dining room and up the wooden stairs.
I look down the hall and suck in a breath.
The room.
It used to terrify me, as a child .. It still does, if I'm honest.
It's just a normal room, from outside.
A white door, with more padlocks than a lock smith.
I debate weather to walk past it, to get to my mothers room.
I walk past the two doors and stand in front of it.
I turn my back to it, not wanting to.
I regrettably look back and see a dark figure staring at me.
"Hello?" I mutter, to which it keeps staring.
It suddenly walks away, into my mothers room.
"Mom!" I scream, feeling danger and run into her room.
"Mom, are you ok?" I walk over to the bed, where my mother lays and touch her arm.
I instantly jump back, at the bitter coldness of her skin.
I look at her face and fall to my knees, at the image of her lifeless eyes.
She was dead.
