She was innocent, before the past came biting back for revenge. (Cant think of another title cause im noob at life)

“I’ll see you later?” Sarah says as she eagers to hear my reply, “Yeah, I’ll call you” I reply as I pick up my pace to my home. I never knew that will be the last time I would see her.

The door opens unexpectedly fast. I hurry inside; today I was going to clean our attic that has been untouched for so long. I hesitated for a second, I’m not supposed to go to the attic for some “reason”, but today, my parents are out for the weekend. My urges for going to the attic were growing by the minute, I have to go now. I take a quick scan around me. Good. The key makes a faint click sound. The door slowly opens to reveal the secrets that have been locked away from me for so long. Let’s do this.

I give out a faint sigh. Books and CDs were all over the place as if some thief has tried breaking in, all except for one thing. A rectangle brown object caught my eye in the distance. I creep towards it and slowly picked it up. The box was contaminated with dust. I swipe it off as it reveals a label, “J—e’s M-------“, most of it was faded, but I could figure out that the first word was Jane’s. It was my name. I glance at the label again. Why was this here? My head shook; there was no time for questioning. I quickly open the box. The box revealed a cassette tape and some files. I pick up the box and hurried downstairs. I go to the living room and place the tape into the VCR. I sit on a couch nearby as my eyes glue to the TV. A figure appeared on the screen; with a knife that was splattered with a red substance and with lifeless bodies all around them, all killed in gruesome deaths. The figure’s face slowly turns towards to the screen as I come to realise who that person was. Me.

“What the…”, I couldn’t say the last word as my eyes widen in shock. Sarah appeared on the screen. Her pale body on the ground was drenched in her pool of blood. Her eyes rolled back and her mouth was wide open. The screen suddenly moves back to “Me” who is cleaning excess blood off the knife while writing some words on the screen, “Wait for me”. I turn off the TV. What the Hell was that?! Sweat poured over my face as I remember something. The files! I scavenge the files to find anything useful as I come across a certain one. The file slips through my fingertips. My hands tremble with fear and disgust. S-Sarah…Thud, thud, thud. I jump. Before I could think of anything else, I see a polished sharp object in my peripheral vision. I quickly turn to see a reflection of me, only that they were stained with blood. They lunged towards me. I quickly dodge and start to run to the front door. Bad move. The back of the knife darted towards the back of my head. My body falls to the ground. They walk towards me, twiddling the knife between their fingers. I try to move my body. Damn it. They squat on the ground, “So you saw the tape eh?” They said, “There is no more use for you now, any last words?” My mouth widens as I try to say something, their face darkens as they revealed the distorted laughing expression they tried hiding, “Too late~”, I feel a sharp pierce in my chest. My eyelids start to grow heavy as my vision starts going hazy. My vision suddenly snaps back into focus. My hands clench together as I began to laugh hysterically. I grab a cloak and open the front door, holding my only weapon as I run off deep into the night. My real life has just started.
