Home is not in sheltered walls where anger flares and hatred crawls.
Home is not the place I sleep, where outside my door are ragged shrieks.
Home is not the place I go, forced to share the things I know.
Home is not in the darkness I hide, staying away from the rules I abide.
Home is not in the music I hear that keeps me from running from the things that I fear.
Home is not in the dreams that I dream, with their terrible images making me scream.
Home is in the makeup I wear, that hides my face from showing despair.
Home is not in the stories I write, that keep my mind busy well into the night.
Home is not inside of my head, where insanity lingers on each word that is said.
Home is your haven, your place you belong, the place you feel happy, the place things don't feel wrong.
Your home is your heaven where your body can rest
Where your thoughts can unwind and you feel at your best.
But where is my home and where does it dwell?
Its my personal heaven away from the hell.
My home is your arms that keep me so safe
With your soft, gentle touch and warming embrace.
When you smile and kiss me, and that look on your face,
As you tell me you love me,
That is home, that's my place.
