Everyone has someone that they just can't help but want to hold so dear.
And everybody dreads the words that they hope they never have to hear.
And so ill hold you close tonight, praying that I know its not goodbye.
And please just know whatever you do, don't you beg or ask me not to cry.
Let's go back, look at that everlasting flame that used to be you and me.
Ill ignore the words you said that cut into the flesh and made me bleed.
Don't let go lets work this out please don't let that flame start to flicker.
Don't you have any hope inside to stop the pain from killing us even quicker?
Now it's too late, you've let me go; my hand goes limp and flutters to my side.
Please go away, IV lost you know, please let me fade away and try to hide.
You feel guilt for what has been, as I sit here and morn beside the street.
And now I'm screaming "make the pain numb away" then I loss the will to speak.
Because look, here we are again, you have another carbon clone on you arm,
And even though you have sliced my heart, the want to say I love you still goes on.
And now I wish that she was me, and our touch was trying hard to linger.
And we're smiling and laughing once again as I gently put you lips against my finger.
That's when I see that photograph of you and me just trying to hide the hate,
That lies beneath your deep brown eyes, so easily seen on your face.
And then I hit the rewind button so I don't have to learn your name.
Our memories are gone now and I wished they had never came.
