You can find that special someone,
Who’s hand fits yours like a glove,
You can vow to love him forever,
There’s nothing like being in love,

Cook him breakfast every morning,
And dinner every night,
You can do everything possible,
To keep your man in sight,

He can take you out for dinner,
And shower you with gifts,
He can seal his love in a diamond ring,
And steal your every kiss,

Forgive him when he comes home late,
Ignore the perfumed smell,
Believe every word he says to you,
And still look after him well,

You can pretend it doesn’t bother you,
Cry every tear you own,
Nothing compares to the heartache,
When you hear he wants to be alone,

Your stomach ties in knots,
Your head begins to ache,
You endure all this pain,
Just for his sake,

Your heart shuts down,
It can’t be bothered to beat,
Your eyes well up,
With unexplained heat,

You always feel like screaming,
You always want to cry,
Your heart feels like its shutting down,
Closing up to die,

Your mind whirrs with confusion,
You know you hate this man!
But why is there this little thought,
That wants to hold his hand?

You want things back the way they were,
You want him by your side,
You want him to be your perfect groom,
And you his perfect bride,

Your heartache is strong and painful,
As true as any dove,
You yearn for him to be yours again,
Nothing hurts like love.
