This is an old poem I wrote about a decade ago. Recently found my old notebooks and figured I'd post a few.

Here we are,

walking across the valley

so take my hand

as the shadow crosses over

Here again,

in this shadowed vale

to take me over

now home again

We walk into the darkness

never fear my child

don't pray,

for your forsaken

he can't save you this time

lest you step across that line

persuade you,

there "is" another way

For me to keep you

just take my hand

I'll guide you,

show you

there's another way

Out of this valley

out of this dream

I can show you,

there's nothing here

For us at least,

there is no hope

we must escape

to a world you claimed,

was real

Although i must stay

I can guide you away

from my shadowed vale,

where to me

you are a dream

i can show you the way

to a world far from here

where I am your dream,

as unreal as you now are.

To us, we are a dream. . .

balanced on the edge of a knife
