It is subtle,
Like the sound of calamity.
It is placid,
Like the path of a tornado.

It is elegant,
Like chaos going out for a morning stroll.
It is sublime,
Like a heart in pieces.

It is comatose,
Like the hands of time.
It is paradise,
Like poison in my veins.

And your eyes shine,
Like diamonds in the dark.
And your heart has a beat,
Like a song trapped in the chorus.

But watch my foolish eyes wake,
Like a flower in the dark.
Because my heart will heal in time,
Like it has in the past.
