'Twas the night a'fore Yuletime
And all through ma' shack
Not array critters was stirrin'
Not even ma' bloodhound Jack

I took off'n ma' britches
And Faylene took off her dress.
We put on our long johns
Fer a night warmly spent.

When up-on the tin roof
There arose sich a clatter
I sprung from ma hammock
To see whut wuz the matter

What did I find-
Oh, sich a sight!
A big fat man
Stuck in ma' stovepipe tight.

People can't hardly believe
What they see o'er ma' couch.
Eight tiny reindeers
And a fat man that pouts!
