The following is a short poem I had written about Home. The poem describes how the author writes in the viewpoint of a young child stuck in a war and is missing her home. Don't expect it to be perfect as I'm only 17 yrs old.

A house is a building that stands on its own.

Living in it for so long, see how it has grown.

Broken old windows and splintered old glass,

I knew that a house will never last.

But even though it has aged over the years,

Tears trickled down my face as my vision blurs.

The house is my home, where I truly belong.

Oh I haven't been there for so long.

Stuck in a place so filthy and foul,

Wishing that I can disappear right now.

How I wish this war would end,

In order to be reunited with my friend.

My oh-so loving home,

Where by the gate stood a gnome.

And when the night arrives,

The stars revives,

And you would be thinking how nice,

It is to be standing there,

Enjoying the cooling night air. . .
