This poem is about a storm by the beach.

Cold is the sea!

My feet shine under the smooth, glassy,

Slowly lapping,


A storm cloud brews,

Above the shining plain

The rain comes sweeping down,

And up above I see,

The softly glowing sun,

Trying to break free,

From its watery prison.

And the wind!

Oh the wind,

Howling and shrieking from above,

Drowning out the strangled cry of thunder,

And the whispering waves,

And the silence.

That strange, thundering silence.

Of the calming storm,

And the stretch of sea,

Blazing with the light of sun,

Blinding against the powdery

Blue sky.
