If I long to sing and to dance in the rain

What must I do to be made flesh again?

In order for rebirth, must I first die?

The here and the now - could I dare to defy?

I'm sat in a desert in my own Joshua tree

With a view of an ocean awash with debris.

Cluttered up waves yet they still sparkle bright,

I think that perhaps I shall swim there tonight.

I must tidy things if I'm leaving this town

But my arms are so tired and I just can't climb down.

This beautiful lily almost 40 feet high

Now I don't want to swim, I would much rather fly.

I think of the phoenix destroyed by a flame

Am I Lady Lazarus, will I rise again?
