Preface

So this is my story, my name is Lexi, I was born on the 12th of May 1931 which makes me 80 years old and Justin 82. I've known him all of my life, his dad and my dad grew up together and were the greatest of friends when they were alive. I remember they used to joke about us growing up and falling in love – I don't think they ever thought that maybe it would happen but one day it did. I think i've always known that I loved him, I think I was around seven when I started to feel something towards him. So stick around and i'll take you back in time to show you how it all began, this is my love story.

I remember a time when things were so simple and a time where we used to mess around, the sweet and long periods of laughter we shared. I remember us growing up together as the best of friends, even though you were two years older than me. Our parents were always throwing us together, when they went for nights out. I remember all those times you threatened to hit me, but you never once did. I remember the time you slapped that boy because he had hit me; I was only 5 and you 7. I remember us playing on your climbing frame and me falling, you were always there to pick me up – I was 6 and you were 8. I remember our dads building us that tree house in my back garden, I remember us spending hours every day up in there, we had a stash of food and our favourite games and toys – that all started at the aged of seven. And by the time I was 16 you still thought I was a kid, we spent less and less time together until I made you meet me in that tree house. That was the night everything changed, and it all started when I was seven and you were nine.

In a way that tree house was the making of us, when I asked you to meet me – I knew that if I didn't say what I had to say I would have lost you to her, your new best friend, Laura.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honey, were going out tonight, okay?” I knew it wasn't a question so I just nodded. “Your going to Justin's and his older sister Cora will be looking after you” mum kissed me on my forehead before going off to get mine and her coat. Dad was the one who had my coat when they came back; he pulled me up into a huge hug and lifted me up into the air. He did this every time he went out because he always felt guilty about leaving me. But I was a happy child, how could I not be? I had a great best friend which I saw all of the time, I was an only child and I had two great parents.

My mum was called Casey, she had the same blonde hair as me and smashing bright blue eyes – my mum was always super sweet and caring; that was just who she was. My dad was called Jason, he had dark brown hair, and greenish blue eyes – my dad was always there to make me laugh and smile; he was just a funny and humorous person. And they were all mine and so I had all of there brilliant traits because I was made by them.

He....y Lexi” Justin said as I stood outside his door, he grabbed my hand and I started to follow but then I remembered I had to say goodbye. So I let go and ran back, dad was there to meet me – he pulled me into a hug “be good trouble” he said before letting me go and then I hugged mum before waving goodbye and following Justin.

Hey” I said when we sat down in his bedroom. “So what you wanna do you want to do today?” he asked in his small and sullen voice. That was the day we decided to watch that horror on tv without Cora knowing and we ended up arm in arms and i buried my head into his chest.
