A 100 word story about a man adjusting to change in his life.

Walking through the shopping centre, Jez - laid off six weeks ago -  is becoming increasingly uneasy. The array of consumer goods, posters advertising smart cars, luxury homes in agents’ windows all feel like too much for a man in his position.

 These goodies are so up-close, blatantly, bewitchingly beckoning to those who can and those who can’t afford them. Jez vacantly gazes upon store frontages and designer logos, as they wink seductively at him. He’s left utterly overwhelmed, giddy, nauseous.

 Perhaps, three days after the news is too soon.

After all, suddenly having £8.85m to your name takes some adjusting to……

Good twist at the end.

You could make it even shorter. We don't need to know that he is walking through a shopping centre for instance, but just that he is faced with a bewildering choice.

Editing out what is not required often improves writing.

All just my opinion of course.
