Suicide is sadly a common thing. People are depressed, don't know what to do with themselves, but what if they never wanted help to stop their depression and actions? After they die, everyone just seems to love them, but what happens when that one person tells the truth about how they got treated by that person? A world of hurt, heartbroken, tears, and much hatred.

I see him, and he's so perfect. His eyes are angelic, and his lips look so soft. His blond hair pushed back, and he just casually strolls past me, smelling amazing.

Sophia has never actually talked to Timothy but she adored him. She never had the guts to actually go spark a conversation with such a handsome lad. Sophia started to head to algebra. She ran into Timothy, who's face was blood red, and angry. He pushed her out of his way, and continued running down the hallway. She looked back up and seen a group of guys, "What happened with Timothy?" They started laughing more, until their "leader" Jake stepped up to explain. "We seen him, we asked him about his girlfriend, but that's right, he doesn't have one, he's never had one. We called him what he was. He's gay, a faggot, a straight up queer, well maybe not a straight up one, since there's nothing straight about that guy." I stood back up "Are you happy? You made him upset, for what? For laughs and giggles? At least he will graduate, unlike the five I see now not even going to class, how many are you flunking, and why would his sexual prefence matter a thing to you, unless you're a little queer yourself. Next time you want to bully someone, look in your mirror, see what the world sees, and you won't like it." Sophia speed off, leaving the group of bullies speechless.

The next day Sophia thought it would be good to talk to Timothy, tell him how she stood up to those guys. She ran down to where she always sees him walking, "Hey Timothy!" He looked her way and stopped in his tracks. "Uh, hi. Do I know you?" She smiled, "I'm Sophia Merdez. Anyway, I know what happened yesterday, about what those guys said to you, I went off on them, they shouldn't treat you that way." He stared at the ground "Uh, thanks, but I can handle myself. It's nice you wanted to help, but next time mind your own business." He walked away. Sophia stood there, now as speechless as the guys were yesterday. Sophia walked to class still confused. She did something nice, but was told to mind her own business next time. Maybe she will mind her business next time, if he doesn't need her help, she won't help then.

Lunch time rolled around, Timothy was sitting alone. He told her to mind her own business, but he didn't say anything about never talking to him again. She walked over and sat down next to  him. "Hey, can I sit here?" He strugged. So Sophia took her seat and looked at Timothy "Do you not like me? What have I done for you not to?" He looked at her, she could see pain and hatred in his eyes. It almost scared her. "Look, I don't mean to be rude, but I only like being seen with pretty girls talking to me, not girls like you." His words hit Sophia like a brick. She got up and ran off. Timothy went back to his food. Sophia went to the first bathroom she seen, and cried her eyes out, until the bell rung to go to class. She walked out of the bathroom, seen Timothy and waved, but carried on her way.

The next few weeks passed, Sophia did not try talking to him again, but she waved and smiled a few times just to be ignored as usual. She then just gave up. Friday morning the announcements came on. "Students of Mingely High, it is sad to say we lost one of our seniors last night due to suicide. Timothy Granes will surely be missed, if anyone needs someone to talk to please see our consulor. Rest in peace Timothy, we will miss you, especially our senior class." Sophia sat in her chair, full of shock, full of anger. Her thoughts of anything but Timothy fled.

People grieving all around the halls, sharing memories, only the good times. Sophia grinded her teeth, he was never a good person to her. How dare they all lie, half of them never even gave him the time of day. So many kind thoughts, so many R.I.P's, so many tears, yet, of course stories of how he treated others badly happened to just be excused. Sophia couldn't take it. She couldn't just hold back, she had nothing good to say about him. He was always mean and rude to her. Sophia took out her phone and updated her status just like everyone else did, but her status wasn't so warm hearted.

"Timothy Granes wasn't such a good person, in fact, he was always mean and rude to me. I stood up for this kid, I tried talking to him at lunch and he told me I wasn't pretty enough to talk to him, he ignored my waves and smiles. So go ahead, idolize this kid who murdered his own spirit, talk about the good but never the bad, but I am here to tell you all, he isn't all that good, he was a jerk."

Comments flooded her status. People accusing her of being the reason he killed himself, people claiming she was being disrespectful and dishonest, and people who simply agreed with her. There however, was one comment that stood out to her. Jakob Granes, Timothy's older brother. His comment read "You don't know me, but I know you. I need you to stop by my house tomorrow, there is something you should read. You won't regret it, but it may change your mind on my brother." Sophia clicked like on the comment, and decided she would stop by, just to see what Jakob was talking about. Sophia then headed to bed with thoughts on what it was she needed to see, and what could change her opinion on such a douche.

Around the afternoon Sophia got up and ready to go see Jakob. She first got online to message him. "I'm on my way now." He replied with a thumbs up, letting her know it was okay to come over. Jakob only lived about 5 minutes away so it wasn't too long of a walk. When she finally arrived Jakob was outside waiting for her. "What is this about?" He looked down at a paper he held in his hands "You need to see his suicide note, please." She shook her head "I can't, why me?" He stared into her eyes, as if he was trying to read her thoughts "It talks about you, I didn't know it was about you until I read your status." She looked terrified "I made him kill himself?" Jakob handed her the note "Just read it." Then, he walked inside. Sophia sat down on the steps and began to read the note.

"I just can't do this anymore. I hate life. I hate everything about it. I'm sorry, I am, I'm sorry I was even born, and I'm sorry for the pain I'm about to cause. I never wanted it to be this way. I've been depressed for awhile, always bullied, never good enough. Dad was always yelling at me, Jakob was the prized child, and who was I? Exactly, No one. No one ever seemed to view me as anything actually worth something, besides one. A girl actually. She told me she stood up for me but I told her to mind her own business. She even tried sitting with me at lunch, but I told her she wans't pretty enough to sit with me or talk to me.It wasn't a lie. She wasn't pretty enough, because she was absolutely gorgeous, just breath taking. She ran away from the table after that, she was crying in the bathroom, I seen her as she came out. Her eyes red and puffy, along with her face. I felt terrible. Then I ignored her frequent waves and smiles. I knew if I let her in she could have stopped me from doing what I planned to do. I just wanted her to hate me and view me the way other people did. I didn't want her to care about me. I didn't want her to help me. I don't want help. I just want to be gone. Words do affect people, your actions do hurt people, I don't want to be here anymore, but to that girl, I do know now, I will die knowing what actual love feels like, even if I didn't show it back to her. Because of her, I will die happy. The pain will be taken from me, I just don't want to cause anyone else pain, but no one cared about me in the first place. So goodbye to whoever finds me and finds this letter. I'll maybe see you all one day, where maybe judging and hatred are not real."

Sophia sat on the steps crying. She could have been the one to help him. He admits she could have helped him, but he didn't want her help, he didn't want anyone's help. He loved her, but she didn't get a chance to fully love him, or let him love her to his full extent. Every night she thinks of him, and how he said she could have helped, but didn't want help. Maybe if she talked to him sooner, things would be different now.
