Sleep is much needed
A restless mind refuses to rest

Too much thought of tomorrow’s trials
Eyes feel light, when they should be heavy

Knowing to be up before the sun rises
Doesn't faze the restless mind

Tomorrow brings nothing, but dread
Knowing the mind wants sleep

When I'm supposed to be wide awake
Yawning will be constant

As if boredom is the problem
Oh how I wish I could dream of a story

Or an adventure
Endless possibilities when one’s asleep

Definite reality is a mind well rested
Prepared to challenge any trails that charge its way

Until then, continued fighting with mind and body
A constant battle without end

For just a restful night sleep
Will sleeplessness ever take a vacation
