Hello, I’m Christian Taylor and welcome to “The Booksie Life Stories”, where we take a look at the minds behind some of Booksie’s finest. Tonight, we look at a poet, whose work from “Longing”, “Echoing Whispering”,“Buried Memories”, and “Vague Choices” have made her among one of the most recognized names on Booksie. This poet from Lebanon is known to some as Bella, but you know her more as Fresh Spirits.
Christian Taylor: According to a recent survey, you got the most number of votes by fellow poets/writers for me to interview. You also have developed a large fanbase of fans of your work...Why do you think a lot of people admire your work?
Angel Bella (Fresh Spirits): Well, this is a good and difficult question to answer. I am very happy and satisfied with the Fans I got, all are great and send their compliments in a musical way to my mind and ears. However, my simple poems attract the readers because I do not think it is good to keep some one waiting so long to catch the theme. Also, I have to mention that the number of fans is good but let us not hide behind our fingers, those who do not give a real and logical comments and say instead " nice, woo..." they only drop by to catch my attention and let me read their work. I am happy to do it and always will but everyone knows the truth of his work.
CT: I've read your work and I’ve been a fan of your work for about 2-years roughly. Your poetry speaks volumes in terms of emotion, artistry, and putting the reader in your shoes. Where does that talent come from?
FS: Poetry is the best way to speak the voice of some hidden feelings, where no one can get them out of you. My poetry speaks for myself, the future never existing generation and my own thoughts I developed by books and life. Life has been, with all its hardships and happy moments, a good attribute to make the best image out of the worst.
CT: Often times poetry is a window into the poet's soul and I think a lot poets often put their personal feelings into their work, which often times leads to a poet's best works or masterpieces as I like to call it. Is their one particular poem that you wrote that was emotionally driven, like you put your pain/feelings in a poem and it became something of a masterpiece?
FS: Poetry is the best emotional outlet set through Diversity of words that speaks to the heart and mind. For me, since I have written them sure they speak the utmost feelings and passions related to me. But to choose one it is very difficult, I can imagine that I can call a masterpiece the collection of my whole work.
CT: What got you interested in writing in poetry? How did it start?
FS: Poetry is a creative area where the wise and thinking people resort to paint their art and knowledge. It is not only, as it is well known for it to be an outlet, but a place where you can witness the progress of your mental and emotional health through your own words.
CT: What sparks your interest in writing poetry?
FS: As a matter of fact, for me poetry itself is a great path to show creative ideas set in the mind and heart. But in case a specific inspiration I cannot chose or know what exactly flames this power.
CT: Fair enough. What type of poetry do you feel most at peace? (i.e...Free-style? Lyrical? Haiku?...etc)
FS: The diversity in poetry makes it more creative and musical, and has a certain echo. Lyrical and free style is the easiest patterns in which I can say my thoughts.
CT: Agreed! Are there any poets/writers that are on Booksie that you inspire/aspire to be like or learn from?
FS: Well, all writers are unique in their own way and they possess certain creativity that they only can learn from it. Since we are all writers, we cannot call ourselves poets yet, have to understand that inspiration is in ourselves and not in others. The others can only mirror what we think, we can agree or disagree.
CT: Awesome! I am now going to ask you a series of questions that I like to call 'This or That?' I'll give you two options....you pick whatever you like the most.
Chocolate or vanilla ice cream?
FS: Lol…Chocolate off course.
CT: Sunrise or sunset?
CT: Poetry or novel?
CT: And finally...what do you see your writing career going in 5 years?
FS: I like to wait to see how the future hide twists for what I am doing. All What I can say is that I will write and continue to discover what really I possess and let God take care for the rest.
CT: Miss Bella, it was a pleasure! Thank you!
FS: Mr.Chris , it was mine too , for it is the second time I will be used as a bacteria under a wise scientific eyes lol.
