As I search…

I need to be in love

I’m not myself without

I yearn to be above

All this self-loathing and doubt

I’m truly incomplete

A half short of a whole

Everyday a harsh defeat

For my ever-searching soul

Why must I suffer as a shadow

A lesser version of myself

Why must I spend my days in sorrow

As I deteriorate my health

Is it me; did I do this

Did I cause my current pain

Have my intentions been so amiss

So as to drive myself insane

Please deliver me from this nightmare

This ceaseless anxious feeling

I cannot live in this despair

My life has lost its meaning

My affection knows no bounds

My heart is pure and true

I don’t care how cliché it sounds

I’ll wait an eternity to find you
