One beat at a time.

My heart wants to retreat.

One step at a time.

I hear the gravel beneath my feet.

Whippoorwills are cooing .

Calling their loves home.

I wander into nowhere.

At midnight I walk alone.

The south wind is howling.

There's a storm moving in.

She is returning back from somewhere.

She never should have been.

The temperature is dropping.

My love is growing cold.

My shadow walks beside me

as I make my way back home.

She loves him in silence.

A secret behind my back.

The October air is standing

the hair upon my neck.

Something isn't right.

Hidden in the dim of lights

Is a motive of destruction,

a falter in the night.

An eerie feeling

chills me to the bone.

This Is why I make my escape.

At midnight ,

I walk alone .

The lightning flashes

above the thunder clouds .

As I hear the sounds of nature.

There is no one around.

Muted voices grunting and screaming .

The sound of nails

suffocated by heavy breathing.

My eyes are blind

My ears are deaf.

I am born in rage ,

I'm leaving , and

I'm blessed.

Too many scars

on these memories I hold.

Finding a new path to love

on this midnight walk alone. .
