Gray life light

dripping shades of darkness .

My voice a muzzle

and my heart a harness.

I am caught between

the sacred and profane

Debating travel before my eyes

or the home of memory lane.

You won't try.

You won't succeed.

You never pursue a heart

that isn't worthy to achieve.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

They cover up the pain

resting at ease while we cry

beneath the tree of profane.

These eyes have faced the murder

from a thirst now born to kill.

Chasing dehydration

Into the love I've kept concealed.

Is it fair to disappear ?

To evaporate the light ?

As the pain reappears

to elope within the night .

Wisdom soul of profane age

defy the fire of toxic rage.

I've had enough

I'm all washed out.

Near or far

hear me as I drown.

Impatient sigh

of vapor breath.

Profane belief

of mercy theft.

Is it fair to disappear ?
