I recently picked up a really good book in the school library. The Forest Of Hands and
Teeth by Carrie Ryan. The Forest Of Hands and Teeth takes place in a fictional gated
community sometime in the near future. A disease that causes people to turn into a rabid,
zombie-like creature, called “The Unconsecrated” has devastated the US. Scratches and
bites transfer the disease and it can’t be cured. The focus is on girl named Mary who
believes that there is a world outside the community. The movie is scheduled to come
out March 22 of 2011, and there are also two more books in the series but with different
girls in similar situations. The Dead-Tossed Waves is also at the library and The Dark
And Hollow Places will be coming out soon. There have been rumors that Kristen
Stewart will be starring as Mary, and I honestly hope she isn’t. I enjoyed this book
because of the morals and the tragic story and making this book into a franchise would
only cheapen its goodness. I give The Forest Of Hands and Teeth  a 4/5.
