For the Cavalier of the hopeful heart:

Your charm’s work had caught me, yet

the fall inside this sorrow of yesterday still stay,

and the words you utter for me

made this hesitant heart left to weigh.

If you would be haughty and most daring,

I am someone to you will never cling.

For I am a girl of passion and dream;

I want to see tomorrow, my fulfillment in gleam.

If you would promise to take part of my trouble,

I am afraid in the long run you might be unable.

I’ve seen you; you only flatter me

you treat me a bud but sooner you’ll leave as a bee.

So cavalier of the hopeful heart,

please don’t push me too much.

For I am still breaking my cocoon;

a butterfly you’ll most admire soon.
