My big sister Vanessa was the queen of my world, her baby girl is queen #2...

Vanessa’s Baby Girl

I had a sister named Vanessa, I loved her dearly, beyond all measure,

She had two children, which were her treasure. Her oldest was a girl,

Beautiful and sleek, precocious in nature, but still yet meek. She grew

To be, a fine young lady, streetwise and smart, and like the matriarch of

Our family, her Grandmother, she has a mouth that can curse the devil

And make him cry and then depart.

She’s a grown woman now, with children of her own, she struggles,

she overcomes, she meets every challenge, too often alone, when she

finds a good man, she holds on to him tight, but that man has to be

extraordinary to stand up with the fight, because the women in our family,

carry much might.

Yes sir, Vanessa’s baby girl is doing alright, personally and professionally

This girl’s out of sight, and although I worry, there’s no need to be uptight.

So if the world comes tumbling down, there’s one thing I can guarantee,

My family will be back to back, side by side, fighting off any enemy.

Vanessa’s baby girl is proof positive of this, and I’ll back her up with

My heart and soul and these two fists, because I’ll fight for mine, in

Word and deed, for my sister’s children I’ll never concede, so all should

Know, my Niece is a “Boss” moving up and moving on, accepting no loss,

Vanessa’s baby girl is winning, now go out there and floss...
