Two in the heart

And it’s hard sometimes to tell them apart

One old and one new

One so perfect and one should be thru

It’s not good but yet so familiar

But the new one is different and a bit peculiar

In my heart I know new is best

But uncertainty won’t give me rest

I need to make a choice but which one do I choose

Afraid to decide because I’m afraid to loose

Why can’t I separate myself from the past?

And why am I afraid that the new one won’t last

Maybe it’s because everything good seems to be taken away from me

Or maybe because the past no matter how bad it is holds a special memory

Either way I’m torn in two

And they can’t see what the pressure to choose is putting me thru

My heart feels like its hailing with rainbows inside

The pressure is mounting and I’m just tired

I’d rather hurt than hurt anyone

And it’s hard being judged by everyone

They don’t understand my heart

Or see how this is tearing me apart

And I don’t have the energy to explain

This two way affair has me drained

I gave it GOD and He gave it right back

I know I got to face it my own and face the fact

My heart is torn in two

And I don’t even know what to do
