Past All Odds

Somehow we've drifted apart;
Like sand you were blown by the wind;
Remembering how to start
Wondering how you were left behind;
A distant star, still faint but shines
Guiding travelers;
As the seasons change, it confines
Redefining old borders;
The leaves have turned brown
A new beginning is found
But mine begins with you;

You love the Autumn and Winter
The crispness in the chilly air
The colors, surround you
That's what I love about you
You love Christmas, the lights
The smell of cinnamon nights
Snow falling on you
I'll always love you
Against all odds

The clouds trace future rain
You looked at me for the first time;
I said rain is such a pain
Your reply: "rain baffles my mind;
Heaven cries when it rains
Another day and another place
Snow is now falling, you grab the reigns

You laugh, I feel so secure
Warm in the freezing air
Wrapped in a sincere embrace
The smell of anise on your face;
The sound of snow under our feet
The sound of kids playing;
The sound of bells so soft and tender
Makes me wonder
We can make it against all odds

It's been so long when we were in school
But your just as cool
Calm and collected as then
My best friend

You love the Autumn and Winter
The crispness in the chilly air
A fairytale prince in disguise
A chance I would take, even my demise
blinded by, the lights
The smell of cinnamon nights
Snow falling on you
I'll always love you
Against all odds
